The Board of Directors and I would like to get your opinion on a new proposed commitment for the ShopResponsibly.org campaign.

6.  Provide a discount to those who pay with cash.

Our entire monetary system is based on banks creating debt as money.  Since we are trying to convince people to stay away from debt, it seems only logical to encourage businesses to encourage shoppers to pay with cash instead of credit cards.  Otherwise, shoppers have no incentive and will continue creating debt through loans and credit cards to purchase their products.

As you can see from the video, there is growing momentum to petition Congress to stop the excessive fees.  But instead of finding a solution through the government, can businesses pass on the savings they incurred from accepting cash to customers as an incentive to use cash instead of credit cards?

What do you think?  Should we adopt this new commitment for our ShopResponsibly.org campaign?

The next question everyone should be asking 7-Eleven is after they put all this time, manpower, money, and resources to convince Congress to make laws to decrease fees, will they pass those savings to consumers in the form of lower prices?
