In the past, we used the MySpace blog to announce new developments within BDO. However, we found that blogging on MySpace is not well read or exposed. So, in an effort to gain more exposure to the many developments of BDO we are combining our two blogs and will use only this WordPress blog.

Team BDO
In expectation of next month’s campaign, BDO recently updated our Team BDO training team webpage. This is a great opportunity to get in shape and help raise awareness of the growing consumer debt addiction in this country. Check out the new webpage to learn more about this opportunity. You can also earn a free BDO T-Shirt by commiting to train with Team BDO.

Shop Responsibly
BDO recently purchased the rights to ShopResponsibly.org. This is a developing project to help raise awareness that businesses play a critical role in helping this country break the habit of consumer debt. We are seeking a hundred signatures on this petition by October. We will send this petition to businesses to help convince them to place a small disclaimer on all advertisements of “Shop Responsibly”. These words on commercial advertisements will help consumers keep their financial goals in mind when shopping. When a business commits to helping consumers shop responsibly they are commiting to 5 things.
1. Provide consumers with the lowest price for products and services.
2. Provide superior products and services in order for consumers to gain great value.
3. Provide consumers with all information to make informed financial decisions.
4. Place the words “Shop Responsibly” on all marketing efforts.
5. Enforce consumer friendly sales tactics.
Will you help us raise the signatures needed to convince businesses to join with us in our goal to beat debt?

New Community Group
As you might have already noticed our community website is shut down. Our hosting service Informe.com recently shut it down with no explanation. It is still listed in their search engine, but will not show up for our use. I guess that is what we get for using a free service. Well, until we raise the money needed to create our own interactive and educational website, we teamed up with Ning.com. Ning.com is a “Web 2.0″ free service that allows niche communities. We hope you can rejoin this new community and share with others your successes and struggles in beating debt. As soon as we get an answer from our old hosting service, we will try to get all information off the site and transfer it to the new community.

New Widget
Through the help of Zfacts.com, BDO created a new consumer debt clock. We all have seen the “National Debt Clocks” around the web, showing off how much debt the national government owes for all its spending. Currently this nation owes somewhere over $9 trillion dollars. Though that is bad, the people of this nation owe much more and do not have a leg on to poke eyeballs at government officials. We currently owe banks and loan companies over $13.9 trillion dollars. Since we are a people addicted to debt, how can we assume that our representatives will not be addicted to debt?
We believe government is a reflection of our society. If we as a people learned to control our own spending, we are very sure that the government would learn to control their spending.
Check out the new widget and place it on your website to raise awareness of the growing addiction of debt in this nation. With this new knowledge, tell others about the amount of debt we owe and commit to beating debt.
