Announcing May 1st is the 57th annual National Day of Prayer. This is a wonderful time to meet in your quiet place or at work or school to lift up the cares of the nation to God and ask for his wisdom when we decide our national actions. There are countless concerns that we can lift up that need a spiritual miracle to alleviate the problems.
Don’t forget on May 1st when you are lifting up national concerns that we also take some time to pray for our own brothers/sisters that are in our own neighborhood that are struggling with debt. Personal debt is climbing to unprecedented levels. It is robbing Americans of their freedom, happiness, and effectiveness for the Lord, thereby making us slaves to loan companies. We need to pray that Americans throw off the persuasions to spend money we don’t have and adopt a more meaningful and logical contentment that will keep us from digging a financial hole.
The debt chains that bind us to our checkbook and our desk at work can be broken through God’s wisdom and grace. On May 1st, pray that we as Americans find the contentment to live within our means, resolve to beat debt, and wisdom from God to make good financial decisions.
Also, spread the word about this event and see if your co-workers, classmates, or friends would like to meet somewhere on May 1st.
May God have mercy on America!
